The INPEx Story

INPEx is the story of two pioneers in the service of nonprofits.

Bill Bennington founded the Institutes for Nonprofit Excellence in 1980, and since then has trained nearly 25,000 nonprofit leaders worldwide in the best practices that make these organizations more fundable in the eyes of supporters. Sponsored by grant making foundations, these training institutes established new standards in nonprofit strategic planning, board development and resource development.

Mal Schwartz founded MBS Associates in 1980, and created Grass Roots Cause Marketing™ - a pioneering approach to cause related marketing that delivered bottom line results for nonprofits and their for-profit partners in mutually beneficial programs. As MBSA grew, its passion for the nonprofit side of the equation took hold, creating powerful brand equities and corporate partnerships for these enduring relationships.

Over the years, Bennington and Schwartz collaborated - creating new approaches to bring for-profit business methods and analytical tools to enhance nonprofit performance, but done in a way that is to the nonprofit mission culture. Now that collaboration is a marriage, and the New York nonprofit community is benefiting from the experience and skill of this combined resource that is INPEx @ MBSA.
