When our INPEx team convenes a CEO Forum, the topic of Board Development is always the first subject the peer group wants to tackle. And it is no surprise - a healthy, functioning board is critical to any nonprofit organization's success. And the task of board management and development is a never ending challenge, because as the organization evolves, so must the role of the board, with the emphasis on "must."

It plots the quantitative measures of board performance and financial performance for a large, random sampling of actual non profits we have served over the years, and the relationship is almost linear. Better board performance yields better financial performance - period.
